The Pole only left Arsenal in the summer to join Juve as Buffon's backup, but the Italian great insists Szczesny is the superior keeper.
Buffon, 39, said: “I will retire because I need to respect the choices of the club.
"They bought a younger and better goalkeeper than me like Szczesny.

"I don't want to put Juve in a difficult position. New goalkeepers must replace me and they should do it quickly.
"The only thing I can do is to train and work hard and honour my career until the end."
