David Moyes lost his first game in charge of West Ham United as the Hammers fell 2-0 to Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Goals from Will Hughes and Richarlison, who scored his fifth goal of the season, were enough to hand Marco Silva's side all three points.

The West Ham faithful expressed their frustration at the players, chanting "you're not fit to wear the shirt".

Asked about the fans anger, Moyes said: "I don't know the history - all I can say, I'm really thankful for the support of me.

"We need a united club. The supporters will know the past. I said to the players, it's tough to play when the crowd is like that. A goal can make a difference."

Moyes added: "I found out today, I was only going to find out what they were like when I took training and in the game.

"The better team won the game, I won't say different, but we had chances to change the outcome of the game.

"We have got to try and find a way of winning, we will try and find a way.

"The most important thing was to be in the game and when we conceded the second that went. We need to learn how to stay in games."
