Watford signing Nathaniel Chalobah is in line for a senior England call.
The Daily Mail says former Chelsea midfielder Chalobah is firmly in England coach Gareth Southgate's thinking ahead of the new season.
It remains to be seen whether the midfielder will receive his first call up for the World Cup qualifying double-header against Malta and Slovakia at the start of September.
But, performances permitting, Chalobah can expect a senior call-up sooner rather than later.
The England manager bemoaned his lack of central midfield options after the 2-2 draw against Scotland in June.
