We all want to be at the 2024 WAFCON, Ghana captain Portia Boakye speaks on behalf of players

Black Queens captain, Portia Boakye has assured that the team will give their all to go past Namibia to qualify for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.

The player was in action for Ghana in the first leg against Namibia last Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

She scored and helped the Black Queens to secure a 3-1 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Portia Boakye said every player in camp is ready to give their all to ensure the Black Queens qualify for the 2024 WAFCON.

“We are working hard because when they are playing the tournament and we are not part, it’s always a big worry. We always wish we could be at the WAFCON. So this year we have made up our minds to qualify. We are doing all we can to ensure we can qualify,” she said.

The reverse fixture between Ghana and Namibia is scheduled to be played on Tuesday, December 5.

Ghana needs to avoid losing 3-0 tomorrow to qualify for the 2024 WAFCON.
