We are 100% ready for Caf Confederation Cup - AshantiGold PRO Eric Karikari

Published on: 14 September 2020

Ashanti Gold SC Public Relations Officer Eric Karikari has disclosed his side's readiness ahead of 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup competition.

The Miners are currently making plans for the Caf inter-club competition after they were selected by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the truncation of the 2019/20 football season.

Ashgold will be without some keys players including Shafiu Mumuni, James Akaminko, Latif Anabila and Eric Donkor, however, the spokesperson of the club says the core of the team is available and 100% ready for the competition.

"No, the issue is that all the players who are leaving the club are not part of our ongoing project. The core of the team is there and we shouldn’t think that we have collapsed the entire team because the majority of the team is there," Karikari told Bryt FM.

"As I speak, we have Appiah McCarthy, Richard Osei Agyemang, Amos Addae and other good players so we are just bringing some few additions to complement them. I can say on authority that, those players who have left the club were not part of our project even before the league was truncated.

"We are still preparing without these players for the Confederations cup. We are 100% ready for the competition."

Ashgold confirmed their participation in Caf inter-clubs competitions lat week.
