Cameroon Football Federation president, Samuel Eto’o has revealed the French-speaking country is proud of Asante Kotoko striker Mbella Etouga’s exploits in the Ghana Premier League.

The Cameroonian, along with compatriot Mfegue Omgba, was signed by Kotoko before the start of the 2021/22 football season.

Mbella in his debut season bagged 21 goals while Mfegue netted nine times for the Porcupine Warriors.

However, Mbella's goals aided Asante Kotoko in capturing the Ghana Premier League title from archrivals Hearts of Oak.

“Mbella had a beautiful season. Some months ago, my manager told me about him and even the national technical director spoke to me about him," Eto'o told TV3.

"We are very proud of what he’s doing in Ghana," he added.

Mbella has been a subject of transfer rumors in the last few months due to his finishing prowess. He is still with Kotoko and training ahead of the new season.

He is expected to continue his exploits for the club ahead of the new football season.
