Hatayspor Vice President, Mustafa Özat says he is elated after Christian Atsu has been found alive.

The Ghana international was a victim of an earthquake that struck on Monday in Turkey with a magnitude of 7.8.

Atsu, together with the club's sporting director, Taner Savut were trapped in the rubble.

However, after 26 hours of searching, the former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger has been found alive.

Speaking to the press, Ozat expressed his excitement after Atsu was rescued but also reiterated he hopes Savut is found alive.

"We are very happy that [Christian Atsu] is alive [but] we are also praying for [sporting director] Taner Savut.

"I hope for good news," he added.

Atsu joined Hatayspor last summer following a short spell with Saudi Arabian topflight side Al Raed.

He scored in Hatayspor's last game on Sunday and even took to Twitter to revel in grabbing the winner.

Atsu is famously remembered for winning the Best Player at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON].
