We are in Morocco to do our best for the nation; support us – Black Meteors coach appeals to Ghanaians

The Ghana U23 head coach, Ibrahim Tanko has appealed to Ghanaians to support his side throughout the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The tactician and his Black Meteors side arrived in Morocco on Wednesday, June 21, to finalise preparations for the start of the 2023 U23 AFCON.

Speaking to the media team of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Coach Ibrahim Tanko has revealed that the target is to win the trophy to secure qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games.

According to him, it is important that Ghanaians support the Black Meteors on this journey to make the country proud.

“The target is to qualify to the Olympic games but there’s also a trophy at stake so we are going for the ultimate and in doing so we want to qualify for the Olympic games. We are here to do our job and the best for the nation but we also need the support of Ghanaians,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko said.

The U23 AFCON tournament is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, June 24.

Ghana’s Black Meteors will play their first match on Sunday, June 25, against Congo.
