St. Mirren manager, Jim Goodwin says the club is lucky to have signed striker Collin Quaner in the January transfer window.

The Ghanaian attacker born in Germany has been signed by the Scottish Premiership club to provide a squad boost for the side in the ongoing campaign.

According to manager Jim Goodwin, Collin Quaner has joined St. Mirren with a good pedigree and will help his team a lot.

“He comes with a real good pedigree. He's 6ft 3in, a really good athlete with a great turn of pace,” the manager said in an interview after the deal to sign the striker was completed.

Jim Goodwin continued, “He's been training with Schalke for the last couple of months and he's been looking after himself. We're very lucky to get him.”

St. Mirren currently sits 8th on the standings of the division and believes the acquisition of the striker gives them a boost to do even better and finish higher at the end of the campaign.

Collin Quaner, 29, in the past had stints with Fortuna Düsseldorf, Arminia Bielefeld, FC Ingolstadt 04, Hansa Rostock, and a few other teams in Germany.
