The Sporting Director of FC Augsburg, Stefan Reuter has indicated that the club is elated it has managed to sign Ghana defender Patric Pfeiffer.

The German Bundesliga club on Thursday, June 1, officially announced that it has completed the signing of the versatile defender on a free transfer.

“FC Augsburg will be strengthened in the coming season with defensive player Patric Pfeiffer. The sought-after central defender has decided to move to FCA and is coming on a free transfer from SV Darmstadt 98,” FC Augsburg said in an official club statement.

Speaking on the new signing, Stefan Reuter said everybody at FC Augsburg is proud of the signing of Patric Pfeiffer, revealing that the club is aware the player had interest from several clubs.

"We are proud that we were able to convince Patric Pfeiffer of FCA despite the great interest from other clubs. With him we get one of the best defenders in the 2nd division, who will help us to achieve our goals in the coming years with his speed, tackling, and header skills," the FC Augsburg sporting director said.

Before leaving SV Darmstadt 98, Patric Pfeiffer managed to help the club to secure promotion to the German Bundesliga.
