We are sticking to GHALCA Top 4; no more G6 tournament – Kudjoe Fianoo

President of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has stressed that there will be no changes made to the famous GHALCA Top 4 tournament in the off-season.

In the past, GHALCA had been forced to make changes to increase the number of teams to include giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

However, speaking to Original FM in an interview, Kudjoe Fianoo says the two teams should forget about playing in the GHALCA Top 4 tournament if they fail to finish in the top four at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.

“What we plan to do is to play Top 4, no plus and no minus. We are going to play Top 4. When we add more teams it takes the significance away from the tournament so we are sticking to just four teams.

“Even if Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko do not make the top 4 we will still play GHALCA Top 4,” Kudjoe Fianoo said.

Over the years, the GHALCA Top 4 tournament has been organised to help clubs that qualify to represent Ghana in the CAF inter-club competitions to prepare well.

It also helps other clubs in their preparation for the new football season.
