We are targeting money zone in the at CAF Champions League - Medeama SC board chairman

Board Chairman of Medeama SC, Dr Toni Aubynn, says they have set their target of playing in the money zone when they compete in this year’s CAF Champions League.

Medeama leads the Premier League log with 56 points with a game to end the season. The Yellow and Mauve will emerge as 2022/23 champions when they beat Tamale City in the final game of the season at Akoon Park on Sunday.

According to him, he would have loved to see Medeama win the CAF Champions League but was hoping to get to the money zone, so their investment won’t go waste.

“I have always been disrespectful of lower targets, I think the ultimate is to win but realistically, you need to enter into the money zone because if you put in all your effort and investment and you don’t actually get to the money zone, you would have spent money for nothing," he told Graphic Sports.

“We are confident of winning the league, we think that we have been hard done by nature you remember that during the normalisation period, we were in a comfortable lead and then the league was truncated.

Dr Aubynn believes the Tarkwa-based club deserve to win the league this season after it eluded them in the last few years when they had the best chance of winning.

“Then before COVID-19, we were also in the lead when government postponed the league and we think we have not been fairly treated by nature so it’s our time to win," he added.
