We are yet to decide on Slavko Matic's future - Hearts of Oak board member Dr Nyaho Tamakloe

Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has disclosed that the club will decide on the future of Slavko Matic, who is the head coach of the club.

The Serbian trainer was not in the dugout in Hearts of Oak's matchday 20 clash against their rivals, Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Matic was prevented from holding training session with the team after suffering back-to-back defeats against Aduana Stars and Great Olympics.

Ahead of the Super Clash that also doubled as the 2023 President's Cup, the fans demanded the sacking of the 47-year-old gaffer.

Assistant coach, David Ocloo led the side to secure the three points against the Porcupine Warriors after Konadu Yiadom connected Linda's freekick in the 57th minute.

Despite the demands of the fans, Dr Tamakloe says the board will decide on the future of Matic soon.

"The future of Slavko Matic will be determined by the board," he told Asempa FM.

"I cannot confirm if he is staying or not because we [the board] have not met to make a decision on that.

"If we meet and make a decision on the future of Matic, the fans and the public will be informed.

"For now, the assistant coach, David Ocloo is in charge of the team now," he added.

Slavko Matic replaced Samuel Boadu after a poor start to the ongoing season.

Following the win, Hearts of Oak now sit 5th on the league log with 31 points and will play Bibiani Gold Stars in the matchday 21 games at DUN's Park.
