We didn’t disgrace ourselves against Senegal – Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu

Head coach for the Black Stars B team of Ghana, Maxwell Konadu has stressed that his team did not disgrace themselves in the finals of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations tournament even though they lost the trophy to Senegal at the end of the day.

The defending champions were defeated by the host nation 3-1 on penalties following a one-all draw at the end of regulation time plus an extra 30 minutes.

Speaking to the media at the end of the match, Ghana Coach Maxwell Konadu noted that his players did their best whiles noting that losing a final on penalties is not bad.

“We didn’t disgrace ourselves I think the boys did their best and we are happy with the performance of the team so far”.

“I think losing the finals on penalties, I think is not too bad. They scored and we replied. We thought we could win the game, we brought on some guys that could score goals and play penalties as well.

“It is just unfortunate that our kicks were not too good today”, Coach Konadu stressed”, the gaffer shared.
