We don’t play fix matches – Bibiani Goldstars forward Roland Frimpong

Bibiani Goldstars forward Roland Frimpong says his outfit do not comprise with their Ghana Premier League matches.

There has been concerns of match-fixing in the Ghana Premier League, with Ashantigold and Inter Allies suffering demotion to the lower-tier following a match manipulation two seasons ago.

But Frimpong in an interview with Kessben FM as followed by Footballghana.com affirmed his side has never indulged themselves in match-fixing.

“The Ghana Premier League is competitive. The narrative that the league is not attractive bounds down to lack of funds. The clubs are unable to buy top players and also, players who turn out to be performing leaves for greener pastures. If we are to limit the conservation to the field of play, then I will say our league is highly competitive” he said.

Responding to match-fixing allegations among Ghana Premier League clubs. The former Real Tamale United attacker said, “We (Goldstars) don’t tolerate such things. Everyone has his opinion about the league but truth be told, Goldstars don’t indulge in match-fixing. The fans who normally go to the stadium can attest the competitiveness of our league. I don’t know what transpired at other centers’ but for Goldstars, we leave no stone unturned in our matches”

Bibiani Goldstars have commenced preparation for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign.

The upcoming league season will commence on September 6, 2024 across the various league centres.
