Head coach of Asante Kotoko CK Akonnor has warned that they have no option than to beat Zesco United in the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday.
The coach stressed that they had a golden opportunity to qualify at their home but squandered it and are now left with only one option which is to win against Zesco in Zambia.
“We don’t have any options than to win on Sunday. We had a golden opportunity to qualify at home but we failed. Now the only option left is to win” He told Kessben FM Sports.
Akonnor also rejected claims that Zesco united might favour his side because of their rivalry with Nkana FC.
” Zesco United were tipped to be the favourites in the group but because things didn’t go well for them they are last in the Group. They still have to play for pride and will do that not necessarily to help Nkana but to play for pride ”
A win for Asante Kotoko at Ndola regardless of the results between Al Hilal and Nkana will see Asante Kotoko sail through to the quarter finals.
