Spezia Calcio winger Emmanuel Gyasi has noted that the team’s recent victory against Sampdoria is an indication that they can compete and stay in the Italian Serie A.

The Italy-born winger who is of Ghanaian descent has been a regular for the Italian Serie A newcomers since the 2020/2021 football season commenced.

On Monday evening, Emmanuel Gyasi was in action for Spezia when the team record a massive 2-1 win against Sampdoria.

Speaking to Sky Sport after the game, the attacker shared that the performance of his team so far proves that they have what it takes to stay in the Italian top-flight league.

“We have shown that we can stay in Serie A. It was a victory that we wanted at all costs, to give continuity and take advantage of a favorable round from the point of view of the results of the direct competitors,” Emmanuel Gyasi shared.

The 27-year-old added, “Then happy to have finally obtained the home victory that we still lacked. The coach asks us outside to take the ball to the attacker, it is a wasteful job, maybe we are missing a few goals, but those will come too and what counts is the victory."

This season, Emmanuel Gyasi has played in 17 matches for Spezia Calcio and has one goal and four assists to his name.
