Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, has called on his team to be clinical and confident in front of goal.

Kotoko lost 1-0 to Great Olympics at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday in the Matchday 32 games in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

In a game that had Kotoko miss a penalty after Olympics goalkeeper Benjamin Asare saved Steven Mukwala’s tame attempt in the 16th minute, Dr Ogum reflected on his team’s poor performance in attack.

“We need to work harder than we have worked especially in this game and especially in the final phase of the game where we have to score. I think we need to be more confident in front of goal," he told StarTimes.

"We need to be sure that we put the ball at the back of the net and once we are able to do that in our two games left, I’m sure we will be okay," he added.

Asante Kotoko drop to 10th place in the standings after the loss with 43 points and will face Real Tamale United this weekend before wrapping up their campaign with a home game against relegated Bofoakwa Tano.
