We need to work a lot if we want to stay at the top - Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew

Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has conceded that the Eagles need to work tirelessly to stay at the top in the upcoming 2023/24 season.

The Selhurst Park club finished 11th last season under Roy Hodgson after a difficult first half of the 2022/23 Premier League season under former manager Patrick Vieira.

The Frenchman then departed which paved way for the return of Roy Hodgson.

Since his return Jordan Ayew has been rejuvenated, scoring three of the four goals he bagged last season when he took over.

Ahead of the new season, the Ghana forward is positive hard work can help them achieve a lot.

“We need to stay humble and keep on working hard, because we know we have a lot of work to do if we want to be at the top,” he told the club’s website.

“We need to improve on certain aspects of the game and we know that demands time, but we’ll get there. The most important thing is to always put in performances and show that we’re building on what we did last season, and to continue playing strongly.”

Palace will open the season away at Sheffield United on Saturday.
