Assistant coach of Accra Great Olympics, Orlando Wellington says his team playing to its strength played a key role in a 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko.

The Wonder Club recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Porcupine Warriors over the weekend in the Matchday 32 games at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

The Dade Boys survived a scare in the 16th minute when Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

Raymond Grippman scored the winner in the 43rd minute as the two-time Ghana Premier League champions secured the win.

Speaking in his post-game presser, coach Wellington believes leaning into his team’s strength helped his team win the game.

“We don’t rely so much on building out from the back because we have players who can run, we have players with a lot of strength, so we played to our strength," he said.

Despite the win, Great Olympics rank 16th on the Premier League log with 39 points and will come up against city rivals, Hearts of Oak in the Matchday 33 games this weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
