Black Queens coach Nora Hauptle has paid tribute to the late Christian Atsu who couldn't survive the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey about two weeks ago.

The now former Black Stars winger was confirmed dead on Saturday after being trapped under the rubble for 12 days.

Hauptle reveals Suzzy Dede and Priscilla Okyere, who survived the deadly quake, have told them incredible things about the disaster in camp.

She was speaking on the sidelines of their training in Cotonou, ahead of a friendly encounter with Benin on Sunday afternoon

"Yeah, it's incredible. I have no words for this situation. We are in our prayers with Christian Atsu's family and we send all our love.

"The Black Queens are behind you. We are aware of the situation. We also had two players who have flown here in our camp.

"Dede and Priscilla. They told us incredible things, unbelievable things. Um, I know also from my country, from Switzerland.

"We sent some rescue crews with dogs and everything, so it's things which go beyond football and our condolences to the families."
