Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has disclosed that his team feared it would get a bad reception from fans for the game against Samartex FC.

The Porcupine Warriors over the weekend locked horns with Samartex FC in a Week 27 encounter of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

In a game played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko fought throughout the contest to secure a 1-0 win to end a seven-game winless run.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said his team thought the fans would boo them.

“When we were coming for the game, we actually thought the fans would boo us, but when we came the reception was very positive and excellent. They sang from the blast of the whistle till the end, and that is the spirit of Asante Kotoko,” Coach Ogum said.

Courtesy of the narrow win over Samartex FC, there is less pressure on Coach Ogum and his Asante Kotoko side.

The team must however build on the win to secure more victories in the upcoming games.
