Karela United player Ganiu Mohammed says his outfit intends to make the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex a fortress in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.

The former Anyinase-based club relocated from the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale to the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex before the start of the second round of the league.

The decision to move to the Naa Sheriga stadium appears to have paid off for Karela United after picking two straights wins at the venue.

The Porcupine Warriors succumbed to a narrow defeat to Karela United. It was Kotoko’s back to back away defeats since the resumption of the Ghana Premier League.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

Putting on a stellar performance, Karela United prevailed with a 1-0 win courtesy, Giyasu Ibrahim’s goal in the 60th minute mark.

After the game, Ganiu Mohammed, who was adjudged man of the match revealed his side wants to make their new venue a fortress in the second round of the league.

“The people of Nalerigu wants us to make the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex a fortress and we will make sure we make the venue a fortress by winning all our home games. the fans here are giving us a lot of support and that is a huge motivation for us. We are grateful for their support” he said.

Karela United are 15th on the Ghana Premier League table with 23 points after 20 matches so far this season.
