Asante Kotoko defender, Imoro Ibrahim has said they were eager to win against WAFA over the weekend.

The Porcupine Warriors hopes of cementing their place on the league log was left in a mess after sharing spoils with the Academy Boys.

Ismail Abdul Ganiu’s penalty with just three minutes played at the Len Clay Stadium on Saturday.

However, Justus Torsutse’s late header, sent the game into 1-1 after full time.

Imoro who scooped his fourth man-of-the-match award after that game, says they needed the three points badly.

“We needed these points very much but we did our best. We worked hard for it but we couldn’t get it," he said after the game.

“So we are looking forward to our next game.

“We were eager to score, we wanted the three points very much.

“It’s not because of Hearts of Oak but we needed the points but we couldn’t get it," he said.

The draw meant Kotoko were not able to go top of the 2020/21 Ghana league table despite being level on 46 points as Hearts of Oak.

Asante Kotoko will be hosted by Aduana Stars in the matchday 27 games at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park this weekend.
