We will beat Hearts of Oak on Sunday – Ashantigold midfielder Mathew Agama

Ashantigold midfielder Mathew Agama is confident his outfit will beat Hearts of Oak in matchday 4 of the Ghana Premier League to deepen their woes.

The two teams have endured a difficult start to the 2021/22 season and will hope to turn things around when they face this weekend.

Ashantigold slow start to the season led to the sacking of coach Ernest Thompson after three matches whereas Hearts of Oak are yet to win a game, sharing the spoils in all three matches.

The miners will play host to the Phobians on Sunday at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.

Ahead of the much-anticipated clash, Mathew Agama who joined the miners in September 2020 says they will give their hundred percent to defeat Hearts of Oak.

“This week we have done hundred percent work out with our new coach [Thomas Duah], he came yesterday and we worked together as a team so Hearts of Oak we know is a very big team and since we started the league last season whenever we meet them is a tough match. I think this week we are already to give out hundred percent job.

“Sure, we will beat them because our position now is very bad, we don’t deserve to be there as you know Ashantigold is a big club so we deserve to be on top.

“As you know we personally supposed to give hundred percent to the staff and also the supporters. We didn’t give hundred percent last season. Our position on the table last season was very bad. We deserve more and we shall really win that very match.”
