Kumasi Asante Kotoko winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi has noted that the team is determined to do whatever it takes to get the needed result against FC San Pedro this weekend to ensure they progress to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors started off their continental campaign in the CAF Champions League but unfortunately got knocked out by Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel.

Now in the final playoff round to the Confederations Cup, Kotoko needs to beat FC San Pedro at the end of two legs to get the ticket to continue into the group stage.

They hold a slight advantage over the Ivorians after beating them 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last weekend. There is however more work to be done in the second leg which comes off this weekend.

Speaking in an interview ahead of the tie, Emmanuel Gyamfi says the team will put up the needed fight to secure qualification to the next phase of the competition.

“It wasn’t an easy game. However, every win is important. It’s a plus that we didn’t concede. We are confident about our progress despite the 1-0 win we have had in Kumasi. We will definitely have a goal away and qualify to the next stage”, Gyamfi said.

He added, “We want to qualify and keep ourselves active so we will do whatever it takes to achieve that”.

The match between Kotoko and FC San Pedro will be played on Sunday, November 3, 2019.

Kick off is at 16:00GMT.
