Asante Kotoko's head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has addressed the ongoing issue of his team's struggles to find the back of the net this season.
Their latest encounter saw them settling for a 1-1 draw against Medeama SC during Matchday 28 at Akoon Park on Saturday.
Despite Steven Mukwala's 22nd-minute goal for Kotoko, Medeama's Diawisie Taylor levelled the score with a penalty kick in the 57th minute.
Reflecting on the match and the team's persistent scoring challenges, Narteh Ogum admitted to the difficulty in translating their training ground proficiency into actual match goals.
"We're creating plenty of opportunities, but converting them has been our Achilles' heel," remarked Prosper Ogum.
"Interestingly, our training sessions have seen the net bulge quite frequently. However, the transition from training to the match arena brings about different dynamics in pace and pressure."
"There's still work to be done in this regard. It's crucial that we sharpen our ability to capitalize on the limited chances we get. Football hinges on goal-scoring, and each goal boosts our confidence."
Asante Kotoko, who sit 11th on the league log with 37 points now sets their sights on a bounce-back performance as they prepare to host Legon Cities in the upcoming Matchday 29 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, May 3rd.
