Christian Atsu's club in Turkey Hatayspor has paid tribute to the winger who was found dead today after an earthquake hit the team's home base in Hatay.
The club took to its social media page to post pictures of Christian Atsu with the caption:
"Sorry for our loss.
The funeral of our football player Christian Atsu, who lost his life under the rubble ( debris), is on his way to be sent to his hometown, Ghana. We will not forget you, Atsu. Peace be upon you, beautiful person. There are no words to describe our sadness. REST in PEACE ATSU"
The Atsu is an ex-player for Chelsea, FC Porto, Everton, Bournemouth, Malaga, Vitesse Arnhem & Newcastle. The last team he represented until his demise was Turkish club Hatayspor.
