New Medeama SC head coach Nebojsa Kapor has expressed his desire to set up the club to be able to compete for laurels.

The Ghana champions confirmed the appointment of the Bosnia and Herzegovina international as their new coach on a one-year renewable contract on Wednesday.

He replaces Augustine Evans Adotey who has been in charge of head coaching duties a few games into last season, winning their first ever Ghana Premier League title and leading them to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

Kapor, at 37 years old, steps into the role with immediate objectives on the horizon.

His primary task involves guiding Medeama through their outstanding league games, aiming to accumulate crucial points and narrow the gap on the league table.

The expectations are high as the club looks to build on the successes of the previous season under Adotey’s leadership.

Speaking after his appointment was announced, Kapor expressed determination to lead the club to silverware this season.

“We can and we’ll challenge for trophies this season. We have few games to cover up to the numbers of the teams on top of the table and so we’ll see how it goes.

“Like I said, it’s a collective job and we’ll hope to set this club up for laurels.”
