Not many Arsenal fans were happy to see Danny Welbeck start ahead of club's record-signing Alexandre Lacazette in the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, manager Arsene Wenger explained why he risked the wrath of the fans by dropping the £52million-man to the bench.

"Lacazette is still in an adaptation phase, and it's down to the fact this trio [Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck] finished well last season," he said.

"I used them as well on occasions in the Premier League.
