Wenger pleased with Arsenal response

Arsene Wenger has admitted he is pleased with his Arsenal players response to criticism after winning five of their last six Premier League matches.

The Gunners won their third Premier League game in a row on Saturday night after defeating Stoke 4-1 at the Britannia Stadium.

Arsenal's recent purple patch has kept them within three points of the top-four, something that was unimaginable after their 2-0 North London derby loss to Tottenham at the end of April.

"The players have responded after a difficult period. We could have gone divided but we have chosen to be united and that's what you see on the pitch," said Wenger.

"I felt we had a difficult week because we had to play Manchester United, go to Southampton and then Stoke, places where traditionally we have struggled, but it shows when confidence is high and the team is focused, it is possible.

"Seventy-five points will be a decent total."
