We’re happy to pick a point at Everton - Jordan Ayew

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew says Crystal Palace are happy to pick a point in their Monday Premier League game against Everton at Goodison Park.

The 32-year-old gave the Eagles the lead with a screamer after the hour mark but Amadou Onana headed home a late equalizer to deny Palace a first win in three games.

Speaking after the game, Jordan said he didn’t want to talk much about his goal but said he’s delighted they won a point.

“I thank God and I thank the team for the effort they put in. I don’t want to talk too much about my goal, but the most important thing for me is the team, and we’re happy to go home with a point.”

The result keeps Crystal Palace out of the relegation zone of the English Premier League.

Meanwhile, Ayew is set to play under a new manager at Crystal Palace after Roy Hodgson stepped down from the post last week.

The 76-year-old signed Jordan for Palace in 2018 and the Ghanaian has played his best football under the former England boss.

The Eagles have since appointed former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner as their new manager.
