West Ham are ready to smash their transfer record gain as they bid to sign a top striker in the January transfer window.

Having spent £20 million on Black Stars deputy skipper Andre Ayew, this winter could see the club top that as they continue their hunt for a striker with imone Zaza almost certainly on his way as a result.

West Ham have assured that the moeny, whch has been set aside after failing to bring in the top front man in the summer, remains available and that the club will go all out to grab “the right man.”

And despite a reluctance to deal with Liverpool – the club may well be ready to make an inquiry for Daniel Sturridge.

A source inside West Ham said: “The money is available for a striker and we are leaving no stone unturned in our hunt.”

He added: “The reason we are linked with so many players is because we look everywhere at everybody. There are several players on our list. We want the best we can get and nothing is ruled out or in at this stage.

“Certainly, it is our aim to get that striker because it’s clear we need a cutting edge and the cash is available.”
