Since Ghana deputy skipper Andre Ayew joined West Ham United from Swansea City in the English Premier League, things have not really gone well for the Ghanaian.

An injury on his debut game against Chelsea kept him out for close to three months- and during a time theclub were struggling many followers of the Hammers expected their record signing to change things but he struggled for match playing time before leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Responding to criticism of the 27-year-old winger by a West Ham fan, co-chairman David Gold posted the following message on Twitter: "Ayew is a good player and cost 20m. dg"

Ayew joined West Ham from Premier League rivals Swansea City in the summer of 2016.
