West Ham co-chairman David Gold defends Andre Ayew

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has defended Andre Ayew on social networking site Twitter.

Responding to criticism of the 27-year-old winger by a West Ham fan, Gold posted the following message on Twitter

Ayew joined West Ham from Premier League rivals Swansea City in the summer of 2016. The Hammers had to pay the Swans a transfer fee of £20.5 million in order to secure the services of the Ghana international.

A long-term injury has however prevented the 27-year-old winger from playing regularly for the Hammers this season.

Ayew has scored one goal and created four chances in 12 Premier League appearances so far this season.

Perhaps West Ham fans want to see the best of the former Marseille star and took to twitter to show their displeasure.
