West Ham Full-Back Aaron Cresswell 'Couldn't Be Happier' After Making England Debut in 2-2 Draw

Aaron Cresswell saidhe, "couldn't be happier"after making his England debut during their 2-2 draw at Wembley against Spain on Tuesday night, the West Ham full-back came on for Danny Rose in the second-half which saw England concede two late goals against the former kings of Europe.


In an interview withWest HamUnited, Cresswell said:"I was obviously delighted, as it is a dream come true," he added,"Ever since I started playing football as a little boy, this is what I wanted to do, and to do it at Wembley in front of 84,000 fans, I can't speak any higher of it."


Cresswell joined the Hammers from Ipswich, and has been a hit ever since. When he was asked if he was nervous when coming he on replied:"No, I was fine when I came on! It's still a game of football and it's something I've done all my life. It's something for me that's finally pulling on that shirt and, as I said, a dream come true."

The former Ipswich defender was only in the squad following an injury to Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater and is only four games back after injury he got his first call-up and didn't expect to be considered for the squad so early after returning from injury, he said,


"It was slightly surprising to get the call after only playing three or four games," he admitted. "To get the setback in pre-season, I didn't think I'd be involved in the England team so soon after coming back, but it's something that I'm delighted has happened and I couldn't be any happier."
