West Ham News: Watford boss Silva backing Moyes; Ogbonna says training now like Juventus

Published on: 19 November 2017

Watford boss Marco Silva believes David Moyes can transform West Ham's fortunes.

Moyes takes charge of his first Irons game today against Watford.

“It is a different situation. If we played against a team with a coach they have the last months we have an idea of what they normally do," Silva explained.

“We know very well the players and the team, but it is a first match with a new coach. We know David Moyes and what he did at his other clubs.

“He can change everything. It is the first game and he can change. We respect the team and they have a lot of individual quality in their players. We know what we need to do to win the game."

Meanwhile, Hammers defender Angelo Ogbonna has likened Moyes' training sessions to his time with Juventus.

He told whufc.com: "If I compare it to Serie A and my time in Juventus, it is really similar. We started with double sessions like I was doing a couple of years ago in Italy.

“Maybe we didn't have two sessions a day when we had two games in a week, but when you have one game a week, you have to have double sessions like this to be fit.

“The harder you train, the quicker you get fit and when we have time to train like we have had during the international break, you have to do it."
