West Ham See Sofiane Feghouli Red Card Rescinded Following Successful Appeal

West Ham United have seen their appeal against Sofiane Feghouli's three match suspension upheld by the FA following the winger's dismissal during Monday evening's home defeat against Manchester United.

It means that the red card issued by referee Mike Dean has been rescinded and Feghouli, who was cut from Algeria's provisional African Cup of Nations squad, will be available for upcoming games against Manchester City (FA Cup), Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough.

Feghouli was ordered from the field after a 50/50 challenge with United defender Phil Jones, and Slaven Bilic asserted soon after the final whistle that an appeal was intended.

Speaking after the game, he said, "I am the first to admit that it's hard for referees and every time you see TV cameras and slow motions, I say okay, they don't have it like that.

"But I said to (Jose) Mourinho, I wouldn't have been happy with a yellow card. In real time, I said it was miss-timed but his foot wasn't up and wasn't crazy.

"I saw it afterwards and it shows that I'm right. It actually looked like the other way round. It's more Jones who went into that dangerously and with what you say 'scissors', than Feghouli."
