Contrary to reports that Asante Kotoko board member Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban has issued a cheque to offset the salary arrears of players of the club, footballghana.com checks have revealed that it is not happening.

As reported by your most trusted online portal recently, the playing body of the Ghana Premier League giants is being owed 2 months wages.

Following reports that Dr. Kofi Abban had issued a cheque to be used to pay the players, stories that followed hours later also indicated that the business mogul has denied making any move of that sort.

In a bid to get to the bottom of the issue, footballghana.com has been speaking to a close source who has revealed that the attempt to pay for the salary arrears of the Kotoko players has been abandoned by Dr. Amoa-Aban.

Information gathered has explained that the board members of the Kumasi-based club disagreed with the sole financing approach and are now making arrangements to pay players what they are owed.
