Wolfsburg Only One of the Clubs Keen on Signing Tottenham Defender in January

Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer has been linked with a move back to Germany after a not so fruitful spell in London since his move last year.

The 24-year-old Austrian joined Spurs from FC Koln last May, but with a host of defensive options for Mauricio Pochettino to choose from, he has only been handed a few opportunities.

According to German publicationBild, Wolfsburg are keen on signing the player, but aren't confident as Pochettino is not willing to sell him, at least not this season.

Wimmer has also been linked to Southampton, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach. His agent, however, has said that the club aren't willing to let go ofthe player; although they perhaps won't beaverse to cashing in if a good offer is tabled.

"The plan [for January] is nothing, but there are a lot of requests," agent Jurgen Werner said toSpox.

"Spurs want to keep him. But if a good offer comes, they too will have to deal with it.If nothing changes until the summer, we will have to look."

Wolfsburg, meanwhile, already have a back-up option in case they don't prise Wimmer away. Sevilla'sTimothee Kolodziejczak is said to be their fall back, and with the defender willing to leave Spain, they have a better chance of landing him.

"I have some concrete offers to leave," Kolodziejczak said earlier this month. "I've had some great times with this club, I've discovered another culture, and honestly, it's easy to adapt to this city and this club.

"I played 50 games last season, today is different. After France and Spain, I think I'll try out another country, another league."
