World Cup 2022: Black Stars should follow Ghana 2006 blueprint to excel - John Paintsil

Published on: 28 November 2022

Former West Ham defender John Paintsil has urged Black Stars to bounce back from their painful defeat to Portugal ahead of their second group game on Monday.

Ghana suffered a 3-2 loss to Portugal on Thursday and will have to beat South Korea to stand a chance of progressing from the group.

Black Stars are bottom in Group H after South Korea and Uruguay played out a goalless draw.

“We all witnessed how great the players were,” Paintsil said, “there was a lot of positive stuff, they kept the team plan until [Portugal scored] and then we opened up.

“Looking at the performance, enthusiasm and fighting spirit, it shows that the boys are committed and ready to turn things around.”

“We are positive and we believe that in the two matches, the boys will go for it.”

The match is scheduled for the Education City stadium on Monday, November 28, 2022 at (13:00 GMT).
