Black Stars defender, Dennis Odoi has indicated that he is shocked Ghana is the lowest-ranked country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Following a disappointing showing at the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, the Black Stars lost points and dropped significantly on the FIFA World Rankings.

Despite being the lowest-ranked country at the ongoing world cup in Qatar, the Black Stars are determined to make a mark.

According to defender Dennis Odoi, players must step up and change the narrative.

“I can’t believe we are the least-ranked team at the World Cup. We need to change that,” Denis Odoi said in a pre-match interview ahead of the clash against Portugal.

The player is feeling confident and has assured the Ghanaian people that the Black Stars are determined to win the Portugal game.

“We are here to play our game. We want to win as a team, we want to represent Ghana,” Odoi said in his pre-match interview.

The clash between Ghana and Portugal is scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT on Thursday, November 24.
