Ghana Football Association Vice President Mark Addo has disclosed that there is a plan for a successor to Otto Addo who will leave his post as Black Stars Coach at the end of this month.

Coach Addo announced on Friday that he would be leaving his role as Ghana coach following the team’s exit from the 2022 World Cup.

The 47-year-old replaced Milovan Rajevac in February, initially as interim boss, and was given a deal until the end of December.

'We knew that Coach (Otto Addo) will be leaving in six months, so we do have a succession plan," the Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee told the press at a briefing in Doha on Saturday.

"We just going through the process, it’s a process, you know the Ghana Football Association works with different stakeholders in this decision-making process.

"Like I said, first thing is to get our reports in quickly, have a meeting within our stakeholders, including the President, the Executive Council and Government and once that is done, we will make a decision on his successor. So yes, we have a plan."

Coach Otto Addo won four games during his time with the Black Stars, beating Madagascar and South Korea in competitive games with the other victories coming against Nicaragua and Switzerland in friendlies.

Ghana crashed out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after finishing bottom of Group H with three points.

Black Stars lost two games and won one, amassing three points.
