Ghana coach Otto Addo has described Andre Dede Ayew as a legend ahead of his side's final group game against Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Since making his Black Stars debut in 2008, Ayew has made over 110 appearances and scored 24 goals.
He starred for and captained the Black Satellites that won both the 2009 African Youth Championship and the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The 32-year-old has played in three FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014 and 2022), as well as seven Africa Cup of Nations (2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021), helping them finish runners-up in 2010 and 2015, and was top goalscorer at the latter tournament.
"It’s a good relation, we respect each other, he respects me, I respect him. He has done a lot for the country; he is our record national player with the most caps so he is already a legend," coach Addo said ahead of Uruguay clash.
"He is helping me to integrate the new players to also put the system down which we choose.
"He has a lot of experience and so players like him and Thomas are helping a lot because it’s very, very difficult sometimes to have influence if you are on the sidelines in a big stadium, so we need these players to also help the younger players."
Ghana and Uruguay face off at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday at 15:00 GMT.
