World Cup 2022: Ghana coach Otto Addo makes history after win over South Korea

Black Stars coach Otto Addo has made history by becoming first Ghanaian head coach to win a game at the FIFA World Cup.

The 47-year-old led his team to secure a 3-2 win over South Korea in their second group game at the Education City Stadium in Qatar.

The victory was also the first time Ghana had scored three goals in a single game at the global showpiece.

Ghana took a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Mohammed Salisu and Kudus but two stunning headers in three minutes from Cho Gue-sung levelled the game after 61 minutes.

Kudus added a final twist when he thumped in a third for Ghana to break South Korea's hearts.

Coach Addo is only the second Ghanaian to take charge of a team in the 92-year history of the competition.

He becomes the second Black Stars player to coach Ghana at the Mundial after Kwesi Appiah who led the four-time African Champions at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He featured for the Black Stars between 1999 and 2006, making 15 appearances and scored two goals.
