World Cup 2022: Ghana coach Otto Addo speaks highly of Thomas Partey ahead of Portugal showdown

Ghana coach, Otto Addo praised Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey ahead of the opener against Portugal on Thursday.

The 28-year-old is expected to play a huge role in Ghana's midfield at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In an interview with the Spanish newspaper AS, Addo was asked about the Ghanaian star, who has been in superb form for the Gunners in their title challenge.

"Thomas has developed into a very mature player now and someone with a big heart for big games," he said.

"The weight of him in the team is just amazing. He is more technical, more efficient, and dynamic," Addo added.

Partey scored the crucial goal against Nigeria in the return leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

Ghana will open their account on Thursday, November 24 against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

Ghana will wrap up their group stage adventure with their much-anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

The Black Stars having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018 will be hoping to improve their performance in Qatar after exiting at the group phase during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
