The head coach of the Morocco national team, Walid Regragui has stressed that he has absolute belief in striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Sevilla forward was key for the Atlas Lions last week and netted the winning goal in the quarter-final game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

That important header helped Morocco to make history by becoming the first African country to advance to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the semi-final match against France, Morocco coach Walid Regragui has praised the striker, insisting that his contribution to the national team is very important.

"I have always believed in him, and that is a good thing. Even you journalists killed me when I said he was going to the World Cup. I think he is the best scorer for Morocco in the World Cup and he responded on the field and the answer is always on the field if it was mine,” coach Walid Regragui said.

The Morocco coach added, "I believed in Youssef, and what he gives to the team on the field can only be understood by those who know football. He works for the team like (Olivier) Giroud with France. He was formed in Al-Maarab, and he is the ideal for the rest, and I am proud of him because he scored an important goal.”

The semi-final match between Morocco and France is scheduled to kick off at 19:00GMT at the Education City Stadium.
