World Cup 2022: Morocco ranked lowest among semi-finalists to win title

Morocco is the least ranked team to win the 2022 World Cup title, according to the world's most prominent sports statistics index “FiveThirtyEight’s SPI”.

The index depends on the performance of the teams and the level of players in each squad, and special mathematical algorithms regarding confrontations.

Four countries namely, France, Argentina, Croatia and Morocco made it to the semi-finals of the biggest soccer mundial.

Croatia will take on Argentina on Tuesday night whiles Morocco face France on Wednesday.

Ahead of the semi-finals games, FiveThirtyEight’s SPI has tipped Argentina to win the title, with 37 percentage.

France and Croatia has 35 and 16 percent chance of winning the World Cup title whiles Morocco sits bottom with 13 percent.

Morocco became the first African nation to reach a World Cup semi-final and ended the hopes of Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.

Striker Youssef En-Nesyri scored the winning goal in the first half, leaping highest to beat goalkeeper Diogo Costa to the ball and heading in to spark pandemonium at Al Thumama Stadium.

The results of the index were as follows:

Argentina, 37 percent.

France 35 percent.

Croatia 16 percent.

Morocco 13 percent.
