Experienced Uruguay striker, Edinson Cavani says he is disappointed that they lost to Portugal in the second Group H match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to him, it was very bitter that after playing well in the game, Uruguay could not even earn a point.
He told Telemundo that the defeat is "a bitter taste for losing, knowing that we have great potential to be able to give more."
Edinson Cavani added, "Leaving points like this, which in the end are costly because losing points in a World Cup is always complicated, it leaves a bitter taste. Now we have to recover, know that there are things to improve and correct, and prepare for the next game as a final should be prepared, because it is the chance we have to take the step we came here for.”
The striker is expected to be in action for Uruguay when they take on Ghana in the final Group H match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Uruguay will need to win that game to stand any chance of advancing to the Round of 16 of the tournament ongoing in Qatar.
