World Cup 2022: South Korea’s jinx at mundial remains unbroken after Ghana defeat

Published on: 29 November 2022

South Korea are now winless from 11 second-round group games at a FIFA World Cup tournament.

The Asian country in the last seven decades has been to several World Cup tournaments.

Unfortunately, South Korea cannot find a win in the second round of games at the mundial.

On Monday, November 28, the national team of the Asian country attempted to break that jinx when they locked horns with the Black Stars of Ghana.

Despite a display of resilience, South Korea could still not secure the much-needed win.

Ghana proved more efficient in front of goal and secured a delightful 3-2 win over the opponent.

During the game, Ghana secured the win thanks to a brace from Mohammed Kudus and a strike from Mohammed Salisu.

That defeat meant that South Korea are winless in 11 second round of group matches played at the world cup.

In that period, South Korea have lost seven times and drawn the other four games.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, South Korea have switched attention to the final Group H match against Portugal.

They are hoping to win to stand a chance of advancing to the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
